Porthleven Gig Club welcomes all those with an interest in rowing the Cornish Pilot Gig
FALKLANDS 25TH
Newquay was the venue selected for the Falklands 25th commemoration day on the 25th May.
The highlight of the day was the sail past by Cornish Pilot Gigs, pleasure craft, boats under sail, fishing boats and so on. This was under the watchful eye of H.M.S. Exeter, who at the time was one of those who took part in the Falklands conflict. As the flotilla of small craft rowed, sailed and powered there way past, H.M.S. Exeter responded with a 21 gun salute.
The Porthleven crew were proud to be there in St. Elvan, - a day they will all remember for a long time.
