Rowing is weather dependent and above 10mph the wind speed makes the sea rough and more difficult. If you are just learning to row it is better to avoid these conditions and come along when it is calmer, or just have a go on the rowing machine!
We ask all new rowers to pay £2 a session for pins. After three rowing sessions our insurance mandates that new rowers must become members to remain covered. So, if you have enjoyed rowing and wish to carry on please ask for a membership form (they are pinned on the notice board by the door) or alternatively you can download the form from this website (please see the Membership section).
Please sign the new starters sheet on the board and leave your name, contact phone number and e-mail address. Thank you!
What happens at training sessions?
The coxes will select the crews to row. Please be patient, sometimes there are more rowers than places. The gig will go out on a run and then return for the next crew. For safety reasons we must have experienced rowers in the gig at all times.
Safety & Apparel
All rowers must familiarise themselves with the Club's Safety requirements and recommended rowing apparel.
Don't be afraid to ask!
It can be a little daunting coming down to a club and not knowing anyone, especially when everyone
there seems to know each other. Please ask questions if you are unsure about anything and ask for one of the
Captains or Coxes to find out more. We will try to help!
